i am coming in may and will be there for 1 week then i leave for a week and come back. if i get the 14 day pass can i use 7 days then come back and use the other 7?

Hi there,
The JR Pass' validity period is for 7/14/21 straight days. So if you needed a JR Pass for both of the weeks you'll be in Japan then I'd suggest purchasing two 7-day passes instead.
