We will be in japan for 14 days looking to do tokyo-(5days)-osaka(4days)- hiroshima(day trip)-koyto (2days)back to toyko for the reminder of the trip, we would also be looking at using local trains to get from district to district would a JR rail pass be worth it?

Hi there,
It will depend on the timing of your trips, but A 7-day Japan Rail Pass is worth considering if you can do Tokyo - OSaka - Hiroshima - Kyoto - Tokyo within its validity period.
Local travel within Tokyo is relatively low cost and typically does not require a pass.
