I am visiting Japan with my two daughters April 20th through April 30th. We hope to visit the following places:
April 20th Arrive Tokyo
April 22nd travel from Tokyo to Kyoto
April 25th travel from Kyoto to Nara then to Osaka
April 26th Osaka to Kobe
April 28th Kobe to Shizouko
April 29th back to Tokyo
We were wondering if a seven day pass for April 22nd to April 28th would be the best bargain.

Hi Jane,
For a 7 day Japan Rail Pass to be worth while, you need to aim to spend over ¥28,300 on individual Japan Rail tickets. Lets take a look at your costs:
TOTAL: ¥25,790 for 5 legs
As you can see from the ticket costs it will be more economical to purchase single tickets for your current itinerary. If you can adjust your itinerary to travel back to Tokyo on the 28th it will be worth purchasing a 7 day rail pass as this final leg will cost ¥5980.
