Would a 7 day pass be a good option for the following rough itinerary:
Jan 25. Arrive Tokyo (6:30 pm)- a couple days Toyko
Jan 27. Depart Tokyo for Hakuba (6-7 days skiing)
Feb 3. Depart Hakuba for other destinations.
Feb 9. Depart Tokyo (4:55 pm)
There are only 5 days of travel outside of the ski trip with a return to Toyko.

Hi there,
A 7 day JR Pass would not be economic here, instead look at using a JR East Nagano Pass to Hakuba.
