I will like to have some comments whether i should use the 7D rail pass or other better combinations
Day 1 - Arrive at KIX airport and direct train to Kyoto
Day 2,3,4 - Kyoto + Nara.
Day 5 (The day I plan to activate the 7D rail pass) - Kyoto to Takayama via Nagoya
Day 6 Nohi day trip to Shiragawago and direct to Kanazawa
Day 7 Kanazawa
Day 8 Kanazawa to Nagano
Day 9 Nagano to Tokyo
Day 10-11 Tokyo city (Day 11 evening travel to Narita airport)

Let's have a look at normal tickets prices and find out!
Kyoto - Takayama ¥ 9,960
Kanazawa - Nagano ¥ 8,960
Nagano - Tokyo ¥ 8,200
Tokyo - Narita Airport ¥ 3,020
For a total of ¥ 30,140, while the 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 29,110. So you can make small savings using a JR Pass. In addition the JR Pass can also be used for local travel around Tokyo on the JR network, adding a bit more! Also don't forget that the JR Pass is your single ticket for all these trips, so no need to purchase tickets each time you plan to travel.
