Visiting in early November and planned to take Resort Shirakami from Aomori to Akita but seems like the rail network is down according to https://www.jreast.co.jp/railway/joyful/shirakami.html
Any other method to travel from Aomori to Akita by public transport? Seems like there is only buses to Morioka from what I managed to Google. Thanks

Hi there,
This is corrent, the resort Shirakami does not operate past October and will start service again in the new year. You can however, use normal and ltd. express trains along the same route.
