Hi, I am arriving into Narita International at 1930. Is it possible to reach Ueno to catch the 2120 Shinkansen to Nagano? or is there another alternative to reach Nagano (and ultimately Iiyama) that same evening? Thank you.

Hi there,
The last train to Nagano you can get on from Narita Airport departs at: 20:44. See this link option 3, that is covered by the Japan Rail Pass.
You should be able to make this, if you have a smooth trip through Narita Airport. That said, you may want to have a plan B ready, just in case it does not work out. Like a plane delay or long queue at immigration.
