Need help with route and if the Jr pass is worth it?
We will be traveling to Osaka, Kansai airport
taking Limousine Bus to Hotel Monterey Osaka from airport
On March 14 to March 17 Osaka
March 17 travel to Toyko from Osaka (start Jr pass) fast train with Jr pass? to The Royal Park Hotel Tokyo Shiodome
Toyko March 17 to March 21
March 19 day trip to Hakone back to Toykon(was going to purchase Hakone free pass)
March 21 travel to Kyoto from Toyko to Kyoto Century Hotel
Kyoto March 21 to March 24
March 24 needs to take some form of transportation to Kansai airport(?)Fast train with Jr pass to the airport from Kyoto Century Hotel?

Can you please help I am first timmer traveling to Japan and scared of getting lost and not sure if Jr pass is worth it?

Hi there,

A 7-day JR Pass is worth considering if you can cover the route Osaka - Tokyo - Kyoto within the 7-day validity period of the pass. You can use the Hikari Shinkansen between Osaka - Tokyo (more about that here).

Then for going back to Kansai Airport, I recommend using the Haruka Express. It's a direct high speed train from Kyoto to Kansai Airport.

Should I consider the 14 day pass instead?

If I start my pass on March 17 it will only last until the 23nd so I will need to purchase the Haruka Express 1 day right to get back to Kansai Airport for my flight outright?

The Haruka Express can be purchased there right?
