Hi,

I plan to travel from Osaka to Hiroshima then Hiroshima to Tokyo and a possible day trip to Kyoto thrown in but I just wanted to check if it’s more cost effective to get the 7 day JR pass or just buy the tickets to each place?

Also do you know the rough costs of each journey without the JR pass as my brother can’t get one as he is living in Japan for a year.

Hi there,

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary. It could also be useful for your brother so see how much i'd cost.

A 7 day JR Pass would be useful if you can cover the return Hiroshima - Osaka with it and travel to Tokyo.
