Is it worth getting 7 JR Pass?

The JR Pass validity is measured in Days. So if you were to activate it any time on the 21st of December, a 7 day rail pass would expire at 23:59 on 27th Dec.

Lets take a look at your costs between 21-27:

1. Kansai airport > Tokyo: ¥15,630 (264mins, 613km)
2. Tokyo > Odawara: ¥3,840 (35mins, 83km)
3. Odawara > Kyoto: ¥11,950 (160mins, 429km)

JR ticket cost: ¥31,420 for 3 legs

• 7 day Japan Rail Pass (¥28,300) saving: ¥3,120

As you can see you'll make small savings with a JR Pass. As you can also make good use of the JR Pass on JR lines in Tokyo, and can also visit other areas near Tokyo (eg, Nikko day trip) I can recommend you use the 7 day pass for this period.
