We would like to visit takayama , shirakawago .hirase onsen and a day ski trip if close by.
We will come from Kyoto or Nara and return back to Nagoya.
Should we still buy the hokuriku JR west pass?

Hello there,
Yes, for this itinerary a Hokuriku pass can be very useful. Just keep in mind that you do have to travel via Kanazawa as well.
