10 Day Trip - Itinerary and Pass Help

Hello! I will be travelling to Japan with my family in a couple of weeks and would like to know if our schedule is well planned and then if the 7 day pass is more tan enough or if other transportation would we needed.

Day 1: Arriving in Narita Intl. / Night in Tokyo
Day 2: Tokyo sightseeing / Night in Tokyo
Day 3: Trip to Kanasawa / Night in Kanasawa
Day 4: Trip to Kyoto / Night in Kyoto
Day 5: Kyoto sightseeing / Night in Kyoto
Day 6: Day trip to Nara / Night in Kyoto
Day 7: Day trip to Gifu / Night in Kyoto
Day 8: Day trip to Osaka / Night in Kyoto
Day 9: Trip to Tokyo / Night in Tokyo
Day 10: Day trip to Hakone / Night in Tokyo
Day 11: Tokyo to Narita Intl.

Your recommendation would be highly appreciated on both when to activate the 7 day JR pass, what transport to use for the other days and if the destinations are well chosen as we havent booked hotels yet so we can still male changes accordingly.
