Suica Pass

Hello, We purchased a 7-day Japan Rail Pass mainly for traveling between Tokyo and Kyoto. I think we are also going to buy a Suica Card. From what I have been reading it sounds like we can use the Suica Card on the Toei and Metro lines in Tokyo as well as buses and subways in Kyoto? I just wanted to confirm that it can be used on transportation that is not operated by JR. Thank you!!
