I had a JR Pass and made a reservation with seat confirmation for a trip from Kyoto to Hiroshima. It happens that I arrived late and did not catch the train. I will be able to make a new reservation and able to choose a sit for the next train?

Hi there,
The official rule is that you may take the next train but only use a non-reserved seat. If all of those are taken, then you may have to stand the entire trip. With this in mind I would always try and get on the train you reserved.
