My boyfriend and I are staying in Kanazawa because we have friends and family there but I was just wondering if there is any places that are worth going to that are close for day trips and enable us to use our JR pass. We got the 14 day JR pass but would like to do some day trips (leaving early and coming home later). Is there anywhere you recommend??

Hi there!
I think the best day trips from Kanazawa are Takayama/Shirakawago, the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route (my need an overnight stay), Osaka and Kyoto/Nara.
You can also find lots of good tips for things to do around Kanazawa on the Kanazawa toursim site.
