Hi again Daniel
Thanks for your earlier reply. We need your help urgently please as things have got a bit confusing. Originally you suggested a 14 day pass for our itinerary (see below) which we purchased and then more recently the 3 day Northern Kyushu (which we haven’t purchased yet.) However with both of these passes, it still leaves us with no cover for 1 day/night exploring in Hakone then a journey from Hakone to Shinjuku plus travel around Tokyo for our 5 nights there plus travel to Haneda airport. The company we purchased the 14 day passes from are willing to refund them so we can purchase a 21 day pass (we need to decide quickly as we leave in 2 weeks); what would you advise please.? Thanks Paddi

Our itinerary repeated
11th November Arrive in Fukuoka (we will travel by rail for day trips to places in northern Kyushu
17th November Travel to Osaka
22nd November Travel to Kyoto
25th November Travel to Takayama
29th November Travel to Hakone - explore Hakone and outdoor art museum
2nd December Travel to Shinjuku-ku Tokyo
6th December Travel to Haneda Airport

Hi there,

Within Hakone you can look at using a Hakone Free Pass, its great value, especially if you do the full Hakone circle. Within Tokyo you could just buy day tickets for the Metro or JR and generally a JR Pass is not needed. Only if you want to go and do additional day trips outside of Tokyo (like Nikko, Shizuoka, Matsushima etc) would I recommend using a 21-day JR Pass.

Thanks so much Daniel - I will order our 3 day northern Kyushu pass today. I had forgotten we had used the Hakone Free Pass on our last trip :)
