Does the Japan Rail Train Pass also covers the NW area of Japan as JR East does?

Did the Japan Rail Train Pass overlaps some areas with JR East?
Where are those areas?

Hi there!

Yes, the nationwide Japan Rail Pass covers 100% of the JR East region, along with 100% of the JR Hokkaido, JR West, JR Shikoku and JR Kyushu regions.

Thanks for your information.
I should purchase the JR Pass instead.
There is no way I can switch since I'm in Japan already, right?

I'm afraid the jr pass can only be purchased outside Japan. As you are already in the country, maybe you could look at highway buses? (they will take much longer, but will be a discounted means of travel)

where to find highway buses station? Is near the train station in the city?
