Is it advisable to still go to takayama after the volcanic eruption? Will be there from 25th to 27th Oct 2014.
We are flying in to kansai airport on the 22 nd to 27th oct 2014. Initially we intend to buy the 7 days JR pass to travel from Osaka-Nara-Hiroshima-Miyajima-takayama-shikawarago-kansai airport .
If we should decide not to travel to Takayama, kindly advise which JR pass we should buy.

The volcanic eruption does not influence travel at all and was a very local incident. You can proceed with your itinerary without any problem.
Btw the 7 day JR Pass will offer you great value, given the above itinerary.
