I am travelling from tokyo to Kanazawa to kyoto and back to Tokyo in a period of 14 days. Is it handy and cheaper to purchase a JR railpas?
My friend is travelling from Tokyo to kanazawa and back to Tokyo. Will it be handy and cheaper for her to get a 7 day JR railpass?

Hi there,
You can make savings with a 7 day JR Pass by simply making a return from Tokyo - Kanazawa using the Shinkansen. So your friend definitely should consider one.
Going for a 14 day JR Pass for Tokyo - Kanazawa - Kyoto - Tokyo would require a bit more travel in order to make savings. For instance a visit to Hiroshima and or Nikko would be a great addition. Otherwise your best choice would be to buy normal tickets.
