Dear JR pass,

Good day.

I want to double check the inclusion of Hokuriku Arch Pass.

We plan to go to Osaka from Ueno Station.

Does it cover the Hokuriku Shinkasen ride from Ueno station to Tsuruga,

Then Thunderbird from Tsuruga to Osaka. And then round trip from Osaka to Tokyo

Some information only says Hokuriku Shinkansen Ueno to Kanazawa, then Thunderbird Kanazawa to Osaka.

Hi there,

Yes, the Hokuriku Arch Pass covers the following:

  • The Hokuriku Shinkansen between Ueno Station (Tokyo) and Tsuruga Station.
  • The Thunderbird limited express train between Tsuruga Station and Osaka Station.

Please note that the pass does not cover the direct Shinkansen route between Osaka and Tokyo. You will need to travel via Tsuruga/Kanazawa to return to Tokyo.
