1) base on my itinerary above, should I buy the 21-day JR pass or tickets for individual trips?

For your itinerary, I would recommend using a 7-day JR Pass.
To maximise the value of your JR Pass, I suggest activating it on Day 1 when you arrive at Haneda Airport. This will cover your airport transfer and your long-distance travel throughout the first week. You can use individual tickets for the rest of your journey.

2) can I ride the Shinkansen with my JR pass?

Yes, the JR Pass covers most Shinkansen bullet trains except for Nozomi and Mizuho.

3) is there a 4-weeks JR pass as I may extend my stay in Japan for another week?

There is no 4-week JR Pass available. However, you could combine a 21-day JR Pass and a 7-day JR Pass to cover a 28-day period.

4) can I purchase the JR pass on arrival at Haneda instead of buying it now from Canada?

We do not sell the JR Pass directly in Japan. However, we can ship JR Pass orders to your address before your departure.

5) I live in Canada. Will the JR pass exchange order arrive in time?

Delivery to Canada normally takes 1-2 working days (Monday-Friday).

6) Can I make part payment now and the balance at pick-up counter in the terminal on arrival at Haneda?

Unfortunately, no. We require full payment at the time of booking.

7) If I purchase a cancellation insurance, can it be applied to my group purchases or does it apply only to one JR pass?

The cancellation protection can be applied to your entire group purchase.
