7-day JR pass

Yes the JR Pass will work very well for your itinerary. Just a normal return Tokyo - Osaka using the Shinkansen is almost the same price as a 7 day JR Pass. You'll make great savings with a 7 day JR Pass. Additionally all travel you plan to do between the above places is covered by the JR Pass.

You can make seat reservations once you've exchanged your JR Pass.

You could consider the Osaka Unlimited Pass for Osaka. It offers very good value for sightseeing.

Thank you for the advice and recommendations. As we have a concert to go to at Nagoya on 2 Jul, we need to go to Nagoya first.

So is it still worth to use the pass from 5 to 11 Jul then?

In that case I would use it from day 2 - 8. This way you could cover both Nagoya, Tokyo and travel back to Osaka :)

And we should start using it on 1 Jul since we'll need to travel from KIX to Nagoya? Then we can use the Osaka unlimited pass from 8 to 11 Jul as it covers our trip to KIX yes?

Yes that would be the best.

The Osaka Unlimited pass does not cover the way back to Kansai Airport but traveling back is only around 1,200yen using the JR Rapid airport service.
