TAKAYAMA-HOKURIKU AREA PASS COVERAGE

Hi Daniel,

We are planning to purchase the Takayama-Hokuriku Area Pass and would like to know if the following routes will be covered -

Tokyo to Kanazawa
Kanazawa to Takayama
Takayama to Hida Furukawa
Takayama back to Kanazawa
Kanazawa to Tokyo

Also, it says that the pass does not include reservations, so does that also mean we cannot do reservations for our luggages? If not, how and where can we make the payment for our luggage. I'd like to make sure so as to not miss our schedule. :)

Also, are there any possible additional charges that we should anticipate while traveling using the Takayama-Hokuriku Area Pass?

Hi there,

We have the full coverage details for the Takayama Hokuriku Area Pass here.

Please note that travel to and from Tokyo is not included. The other routes are covered. On these trains, no luggage reservations are needed, and you can just take your luggage on the train.

Another question though - since travel to and from Tokyo is not included, what pass would you recommend considering the routes/itinerary mentioned, and that we will be coming from going back to Tokyo?
