We will be
- arriving to Tokyo and stay for 3 days
- go to Osaka and stay at Osaka for 4 days
- do day trip to Kyoto
- day trip to Nara
- day trip to Himeji - Kobe
It seems that we should just pay for 1 way shinkensen to Osaka and buy the 4 days WEST JR pass instead of getting 7 days JR pass?
Can we buy West JR pass once we arrive to Japan or we need to buy it beforehand? It's not very clear from the website.

Both options are available to you, for most passes, it is a bit cheaper to buy them ahead of time.
