Unfortunately our JR passes have been through the washing machine. we are in japan. i have dried them and taped them but don’t think they will go through a ticket machine. can i get them replaced? i still have the original paperwork. we have 2 weeks left of out holiday- Takayama- Kanazawa then 8 days in kyoto with day trips and then back to narita airport. Can i buy a regional pass in japan? Any other suggestions.

Hi there,
Damaged passes can't be reissued, but you can keep using the manned ticket gates at each station. Your pass will remain valid.
Simply show your pass when entering/exiting the platforms area.
