2. It can help, but not needed. I've travelled to/lived in Japan for 30 years without one.

BTW, your Day 3 is way overloaded. Arashiyama has some great places, but if you are only mentioning the bridge, I'd say skip it - it's one of the most overrated places in Japan. Fushimi Inari Taisha is open 24/7 so any time is fine, but many of the places you list are scattered all over. If you really want to see them, consider taking a taxi between them - it's pricey, but you don't have a lot of time. Fushimi Inari is easy by train from Kyoto Stn though.

I see Toraneko already answered your first two questions. I do agree that day 3 looks very busy, especially since you will be visiting places all over Kyoto. This makes it hard to combine them all. I think going with the east side of Kyoto and Fushimi Inari is a great start, you can visit Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion), Kiyomizu Temple (清水寺) & Higashiyama District near to kiyimizu and Gion District there. Then take a train south to Fushimi Inari.

As for portable Wifi, it can be hard to go without Internet these days. It does depend on the person though. We can help you get a small discount of Wifi hire via this link.

Good day.

Thank you so much for your information. I will try to do some changes on my itinerary especially in Kyoto, but seriously I wish to travel to all the places as I saw the photos for those places are so nice.

I have another questions regarding travelling in Japan. As I am tourist and I do not know how to speak and read Japanese, so is it difficult for me to travel in Japan especially looking for direction and order food? Or is there any tools or apps easier for us to communicate with the locals?

Hi Vivien,

You can absolutely travel in Japan, even without knowing the language. People often go out of there way to help visitors and it is a great experience all around. Though it really does help to be able to talk a bit of Japanese if you want to eat at a family held shop somewhere in a back ally.
