Itinerary check and which railpass is the best

Dear all,

we are currently planning our trip and would deeply appreciate any feedback concerning our planned trip. Moreover we used the railpass calculator and it seems that if we buy a 21 day ticket we would pay more than single tickets. Could that be correct?

Therefore we would appreciate any feedback if it would be better to buy single tickets or 14 day railpass or 21 day railpass and if our planning seems approporiate in terms of times and sights to see. Also we are deeply grateful for any alternative routes or planes.

Tokio March 17.-21
Kyoto March 21.-25.
Koya-san March 25.-27.
Osaka March 27.-30.
Kanazawa March 30 - April 1.
Shirakawa-go April 1 - April 2.
Takayama April 2.-4.
Yokohama April 4-.-6.
Flight back to Vienna April 6
