Best and Budget Friendly Transportation

Hi!

Me and my friend are travelling to Japan on March 1-8,2019

Here’s our Itinerary:

March 1 - Arrive at Narita Airport(Hotel is at Ueno)
March 2 - Tokyo
March 3 - Day Trip to Mt. Fuji (Lake Kawaguchiko, Oshino Hakkai) then head to Osaka(Hotel at South Namba)
March 4- Osaka/Kyoto/Nara
March 5 - USJ
March 6 - Head back to Tokyo (Hotel is at Ueno)
March 7 - Tokyo
March 8 - Departure at Narita

Need suggestions for the best but budget friendly transportation please. We would also like to ride the bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo. Do you suggest buying 7-day JRPass? Or the Kinetsu Rail pass for Osaka/Kyoto/Nara?

Hi there,

My advice is to take a 7 day Japan Rail Pass and use it from either day 1-7 or from day 2-8, both are basically the same :)

The JR Pass will cover travel to all the cities you plan to visit and can be used for local travel in many places as well. All together you will be able to make rather good savings.

Hi Daniel-san,

We are really confused with regards to travelling to Osaka from Mt. Fuji.
We're going to leave Ueno at around 7:30AM and hopefully make it to Kawaguchiko Station by 10:00AM.

The only places that we would really like to visit around Mt. Fuji is, Lake Kawaguchiko, Oshino Hakkai and Chureito Pagoda which is covered by the "Mt. Fuji Loop Bus". (http://bus-en.fujikyu.co.jp/heritage-tour/detail/id/3/)

If we make a stop over at Gotemba before heading to Osaka, do you think we'll make it there by 9pm?
