We are travelling in japan for 1 month. We land in Tokya at Narita and will spend June 26-July 2 in Tokyo. Next we fly to Okinawa until July 8 when we return to narita.
We plan to continue on to Kyoto July 8 and then spend time in Kyoto before heading to the Japan Alps then to Fuji lakes area and climbing Mount Fuji, possibly to Ito and then flying out of Narita July 22.

It appears to me that a 14 day JR pass for July 8-22 is our best option. Do you have any suggestions (2 adults and 3 children)?

Hi there,

What kind of suggestions would you be looking for :) You have a basic itinerary written down but it would help if you tell me what kind of suggestions you are looking for? Like cultural, stuff to do for kids, what to eat - that kind of thing :)

Could could you give me an idea of how many days you plan to stay in Kyoto and the Japanese Alps. This would help me look at the best rail pass option for you.
