Hey, :)
I read the forum very carefully and see a lot of helpful people
Could you advise me if I should buy a 14 days japan pass or just buy single tickets?
My plan is:
27.06 Narita->Tokio
27.06 to 02.07 Tokio
Including small one day trips to: Nikko, Kamakura
02.07 to 03.07 Tokio->Takayama
03.07 Takayama->Kyoto
03.07 to 09.07 Kyoto
Including small one day trips to: Nara, Osaka, Koyasan
09.07 Kyoto-> Hiroshima(Miyajima)
10.07 Miyajima->Himeji->Narita
11.07 Narita

Is it possible to do or too much? (my first time in Asia)
Should I reserve one night in Koyasan for "Overnight at a Buddhist temple"?.
Is japan pass enough or should I be prepaired for extra costs? (at this moment all the names of lines and kinds of transport in JP are the little mystery :) )
Thanks for all answers!
Greetings from Bydgoszcz!

Hi Ryszard,

First time I have heard of Bydgoszcz, so I looked it up. The channel looks very pretty at night :)

Going from Poland to Japan, I would certainly recommend a JR Pass for your journey as you could make some nice savings with it.

Here is a little breakdown of ticket prices,

Narita -> Tokyo ¥ 2,940
Tokyo Nikko ¥ 10,860
Tokyo Kamakura ¥ 1,780
Tokyo -> Takayama ¥ 14,500
Takayama -> Kyoto ¥ 9,680
Kyoto Nara ¥ 1,380
Kyoto Osaka 1040
Kyoto -> Hiroshima ¥ 11,090
Hiroshima Miyajima 1140
Hiroshima -> Himeji ¥ 8,270
Himeji -> Narita Airport ¥ 18,000

For a total of: ¥ 80,680 The 14-Day JR Pass is ¥ 45,100 so you would be able to save ¥ 35,580. Which is very good!

Your itinerary is certainly possibly but you will travel a lot! Some people may prefer staying a little longer in one place to get a better feel for it, it depends on your own preferences! Just remember that you don't have to max out the JR Pass or anything, even if you travel a little less, you will still make great savings with the JR Pass.

Koyasan is a great lovely place to visit but expensive a night stay will cost you a minimum of 10,000Yen but 16,000Yen is more common for the better accommodations. I would certainly recommend it, budget allowing. Your JR Pass will carry you for the greatest part of your travel but you may have some extra costs if you travel on private railways, such as when you visit Koya san. The price to Koya for one way from Osaka is around 1400Yen for one way but you won't have to prepare a lot of extra money to cover your travel.

I hope you find this useful!
-Daniel

Hey! Thanks a lot, I had doubts but now I'm sure I'll buy JP pass. Japan seems to be so exciting that I can't decide where to go and what to see ;)
