We are arriving in Japan late afternoon 18 Oct and will be in Tokyo for 3 nights. We then travel to Hakone and Kyoto for 2 nights each and back to Tokyo for 3 nights. We have already booked transport to and from the airport separately. Will it be worth our while to buy a 7 day pass to use between 19 Oct and 26 Oct. That leaves us with our last day in Tokyo without a rail pass, but will we be able to use the pass to travel everywhere else?

Hi there,
Yes, a 7-day JR Pass will be worth it here. You can use it for travel by Shinkansen to Hakone, Kyoto and back to Tokyo. As well as for any local JR travel, within cities or from the airport.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
