Hi, Sir/Madam

I will travel to Japan in April or May and the itinerary is below:
Day 1 -Arrive @Narita airport and travel to Osaka via bullet train
Day 2- 3 Osaka -travel around Osaka city
Day 4 -Osaka to Nara (Day trip) and back to Osaka
Day 5 -Osaka to Hiroshima and Miyajima-the shrine island (day trip) and back to Osaka
Day 6-Osaka to Kyoto
Day 7-Kyoto -travel around kyoto city
Day 8-Kyoto to Tokyo
Day 9-11 -Tokyo
Day 12 -Depart from Narita Airport

Shlould I buy 7 ot 14 days JR Pass on the above travel itinerary?

Hi there,

With a small change to your plans, I would look at using a 7-day JR Pass. The trips that cost the most are the intercity trips and if you could take a late train back to Tokyo on the 7th, this would allow you to put all your intercity trips within the 7day period.

That said, you do enough travel for a 14 day JR Pass to be cost efficient and it would be a good choice if you want to extra flexibility that it offers.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
