Hi trying to work out if JR pass will actually save me money or just buy tickets for each trip, plans are:
Osaka-Hiroshima return
Osaka-Tokyo
Tokyo-Nikko return
Tokyo-Hakone return
Tokyo-Kyoto
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but when I compare prices it looks like I'm better off not getting one. Thanks in advance.
JR Pass worth it or not?
Hi there,
How many days will you be travelling? In general a 7 day JR Pass will help you big time here.
Just a return Osaka - Hiroshima is about 21.000 yen, a one way Osaka - Tokyo around 14.200yen and a return Tokyo - Nikko using the Shinkansen about 10.000yen. While the cost of a 7 day JR Pass is 29.100yen.
A 14 day JR Pass would be a good investment too if you can include the one way Tokyo - Kyoto 13.600.
Can you tell me what numbers you were looking at, this might explain your earlier conclusion.
Kind regards,
Daniel
