Hi I am looking to visit Japan next year.

I will be arriving on 12 Jan via Kansai airport.

I shall be heading to Kyoto from 12 - 16 Jan.

On 16 Jan, I shall be travelling from Kyoto station to Kinosaki station

On 17 Jan I shall be travelling from Kinosaki station to Osaka station

On 18 Jan i shall be travelling from Osaka station to Kansai airport.

Pls advise which JR pass I should be buying.

Can you advise what does non-reserved seat means? it mean i can take any seat that is empty? or i may be standing ?

Thanks.

Hi there,

I recommend using a Kansai Wide Area Pass. This pass is great for visiting Kinosaki-onsen and will help you make good savings on the route Kansai Airport - KinosakiOnsen - Kyoto.

Each train has several cars with non-reserved seats, you may use any seat within these train cars. There are also some carriages with reserved seats, you can not take these, even when empty.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
