Hi, I am looking best option to buy JR pass and need some guidance.

I am traveling with my wife and infant baby, 3rd of October - 10 October be in Tokyo, then travel to Kyoto by train. We plan to stay in Kyoto 10th of October but have a day trip to Nagoya or Nara or Kobe then come back again to Kyoto next day. 14 th of October will go to Osaka and next day finally Kansai Airport.

So considering plan and passengers which one of the JR pass I should purchase?

Below is the details
3 October: Haneda Airport to Tokyo Main station Chuo
4-10 October stay in Tokyo and surrounding
10 October go to Kyoto
11 Kyoto to Nagoya or Nara or Kobe a day trip
12 Back to Kyoto
14 go to Osaka
15 Osaka to Kansai Airport

Best Regards
Erhan

Hi Erhan,

I think going for normal tickets would be the best option for your itinerary. The JR Pass would have been a good option if, for instance, you made a return Tokyo - Kyoto. In the current itinerary you will most likely stay under the price of a 7 day JR Pass. Tokyo - Kyoto is the most expansive part (about 14,000yen). A one way ticket Tokyo - Nagoya is around 6,000yen and Nara and kobe are both below 1,000yen for one way.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
