Also, your prices that you quote here are in British pounds 351 for an ordinary JR pass per person? That's really expensive. Am I reading it wrong? I've seen other quotes same price but in Singapore dollars. Please confirm.

Thanks.

Hi Anne,

I would recommend a 7 day JR Pass for your travel. The 7 day JR Pass is roughly the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto or Osaka on the Shinkansen. Now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price.
In addition you can also use the JR Pass for local travel on Tokyo / Osaka on the many JR lines that run throughout both cities and for travel to the Airport.

As for the price, it is 29,100yen the price in your own currency depends on the current exchange rate. Currently a 7 day JR Pass is £166.00.

You can find the current prices here:

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Anne,

I already wrote a little about this in my previous replay and think that the 7 day JR Pass would suit your itinerary best. My recommendation would be to use it from day 3-10 to make the most of it.

Happy travels,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I'm sorry I wasn't clear, I meant which route of the JR 7 day pass should I get? JR East, West, etc?

Thank you.

Hi Anne,

In addition to regional passes such as tje JR East and West pass, there's also a nationwide JR Pass available.

I would recommend the nationwide (normal) JR Pass for your travel as a regional pass would not cover all of your itinerary.

Hope this clears things up,
Daniel
