Hello,

Me and my boyfriend are doing a trip to Japan but we are on a budget.
So I would Like to know if anyone Can help us do the cheapest but confortable choice.

We are Going to Narita Aeroport to Kyoto for 3 days and then tokyo for 5 days.
I would Like to know if there is another way beside de jR pass cheaper and that can cover the 8 days that we are in Japan.

Thank you!!

Hi there,

The JR Pass is the most budget friendly option if you wish to travel by rail. Just visiting Narita Airport - Kyoto - Tokyo pays for more than the pass itself.

The only other option would be to look at night buses, these generally are cheaper than rail travel but I would never recommend using a night bus if you are so short a period of time in Japan. Basically because you will love the next day to fatigue if you can't sleep in the night bus.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
