What if my 'Exchange Order' never comes?

Hello!

I'm going to Japan this October and I'm planning to buy JR Pass. My trip will be for 12 days and I'm planning to visit , Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima and such. I just wonder what if I order my JR Pass online and for some reasons (who know what may happen), my "Exchange Order" gets lost somewhere, in that case, what do I have to do?

And one more question: may I have a refund if I can't use my JR Pass in case my trip is cancelled (Let's hope that it's not because I have longing for this trip since the start of this year)

Yesterday, I visited one Japanese travel agency in our country and they do sell JR Pass but I think the price is t higher (I guess they include the service fee), however they have the refund option and they said they will directly bring the "Exchange order" to my door so there's no worry about missing or anything.

Well, considering about price and I guess I should order it directly online yet, I still waver about the "Exchange order" and Refund option. Could you answer my question?

Thank you for reading this!

Hi there,

We have a very very very good track record when it comes to delivering JR Passes. Just have a look at our customer reviews, we have nearly 20.000 reviews.

Even so, if you are worried, place your order well in advance. We can then make sure everything works out well, If any irregularities appear. Just keep in mind that any JR Pass has to be activated within 90 days after purchase.

We can also refund any unused JR Pass within 1 year after purchase, a refund fee of 15% does apply.

I hope this helps, also let me know if there's anything I can help with.

Hi Daniel-san,

Thank you so much for your answer!

Your answer helped me out a lot. I decided to order JR Pass online instead of buying it via travel agency.

However, may I ask in case of refund, how will I be able to get my money back? (deduct 15% refund fee of course, I understand that). I mean the procedure or so because we are doing it online so I'm kind of confused. I just want to make sure about everything before making my order.

I will go to Japan this October so booking my JR Pass now seem appropriate right?

Hope you have a nice day!

Hi again!

In case of a refund, we refund the money directly on the card you used for the purchase. Just the same way as any other online refund. (Although I understand you may be new to this).

Yes, this would be a good time to order the JR Pass if you use it in October. There will be plenty of time to to get it to you and you can put your mind to more important matters, like deciding what to see and do in Japan.

Does that help?
Daniel
