Hi there,
I am going to buy the JR pass now for my trip in a few months.
I arrive at Haneda airport at 18:30 and I see that the ticket office there closes at 18:30.
Do I need to go to the ticket office to activate the pass before I can take the monorail? (it's closed when I get there)
OR - Is it automatically active on the day I arrive?

You must change your voucher into the activated pass to start using it. Unfortunately, you will need to pay for the monorail due to your arrival time.
