Using the JR Pass to visit the Lavender farms in Furano

Hi there,

We are traveling to Hokkaido this July, from the New Chitose Airport, which line is covered by the JR Pass to Asahikawa Station? How do I know which lines are covered by my JR Pass?

We are also traveling to Furano to visit the lavender farms (i.e. Farm Tomita, Biei, etc). Does the JR Pass cover the Limited Express Furano Lavender Express from Asahikawa Station to the Lavender Farm Station? If not, can you please give recommendations on the best transportation where we can fully access the farms using the JR Pass.

Hi,
You can see regular fares, routes and schedules on Hyperdia.
As long as the route does not appear as purple, you know it is a JR line and you can use your pass on it. You will have no trouble using your JR pass to Sapporo, and then the limited express to Furano (takes about 2 hours from Sapporo). But depending on what time you arrive, you might take take the regular trains. You can also get more info for Furano here and for Biei, here.
