Using the Jr Pass inside out Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto

I would like to ask that, is the pass available for usage only for JR trains? What about the Tokyo and Osaka subway? Is my only choice to buy the relevant subway passes?

I am travelling to Tokyo via Narita for two days and will be travelling to Osaka for around 7-8days.

Hi there,

The JR Pass is valid for all JR lines nationwide, include the local JR network in Tokyo and Osaka.

The Metro/Subway however is not included. You can buy day passes for the subway/metro at any ticket machine.
