I have purchased the JR pass and plan to use it from Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka-Nagoya-Hakone-Tokyo. I would like to know if I can use my JR pass to Hakone? Do i need to purchase additional train ticket to reach Hakone?
My second option is to go to Atami instead of Hakone if JR pass is more accessible to Atami?
Thank you.
Using JR pass from Nagoya to Hakone and Tokyo
Hi there,
You can use the JR Pass to Odawara station, this is the Shinkansen station for Hakone. From there other transport will be required if you wish to explore Hakone, as there are no JR lines within the Hakone area.
A pretty good option is to use a Hakone Free Pass:

Hope this helps,
Daniel
