Is it true that the Twilight Express has finished?? Are there any other sleeper trains of character?

Hi there,

Unfortunately yes, the Twilight Express has retired and most other sleeper trains already have all will be scrapped with the Hokkaido Shinkansen are put into service. A similar serivce is the Cassiopeia running from Ueno to Sapporo.

Note that the JR Pass is only valid for the basic fare on this train and you will have to pay other fares, such as accommodation fare and seat fares yourself (these add up to quite a bit).

Hope this helps,
Daniel
