Hi, wil be visiting Japan this April, just wanna check if it's possible to go to Sapporo from Tokyo using JR Pass.
I'll try to search in Hyperdia but i't showing there that i need to take plane from Aomori to Sapporo.
But checking on the JR maps i can see the JR line connecting from Aomori to Hakodate then to Sapporo.
Kindly help me on this..
Thanks in advance☺️

Hi,
Hyperdia will always try to show you the most efficient route. By plane you can arrive in about 90 minutes. But by train it will take you 7¾-8½ and kill the whole day. You can take JR trains all the way from Tokyo to Sapporo, and to only see the train routes on Hyperdia, click on "More Options" and uncheck the Airplane box.
You can certainly go by train and get your money's worth, but if you are riding that much, why not stop off somewhere along the way? The Tohoku area has some great places, like Hirosaki, Kakunodate, Aomori, and in Hokkaido, in Hakodate. The view from atop Mt. Hakodate at night is absolutely one of Japan's best.

Good luck.
