We will be arriving to Osaka on September 21st. I am thinking about making a reservation for a ryokan near mt.fuji. If I buy the rail pass, what station would I have to get off at if I am coming from Osaka? We will be staying in an area called Fujikawaguchiko.
After that, we will be going to Yokohama, how will I catch the train from mt.fuji to Yokohama. Will that be the subway system or will it be the main rail system?
The airport we are flying out from will be Narita.
I am just trying to see if the pass will be worth the purchase, since we will only be staying 5 days
Traveling questions
Hi there,
I checked your itinerary for the best travel options and would actually advise buying normal tickets, as you won't do enough travel for a JR Pass to be economic.
Traveling from Osaka - Fuji Kawaguchiko is not the easiest of trips. Basically there are two approaches. One is to take the train from Osaka - Tokyo station and use local trains from there via Otsuki to Kawaguchiko. The option is best if you have a JR Pass as it will cost less.
The other is to take the train from Osaka - Mishima station and from there take an express bus. This option is the better if you don't have a JR Pass.
Hope this helps!
Daniel
Thank you! Yeah I think we will not purchase the ticket. Do you possibly know how much a one way ticket from Osaka to Tokyo will cost? I can not find that information online
