Hi,

I'm just wondering the best way to go with the passes as we have 6 days, out of our 20 days, in Hakuba.

Day 1 travel from Narita on bus
Day 2 to 7 Travel within Tokyo
Day 8 Travel Tokyo to Yudanka
Day 9 Yudanka
Day 10 Yudanka to Hakuba
Day 10 to 17 Hakuba
Day 18 Travel to Yokohama
Day 19 Yokohama to Kamakura return Yokohama
Day 20 half day to travel then travel to airport

Our last days are the end of December so it will be busy. We have a 5 year old so i wondered if we didn't buy her a JR pass can we still buy her a ticket at the station for the trips that will be busy?
Thanks!

Hi there,

I am going to advise buying normal train tickets for this trip, since most travel is either local or does not add enough to a point where you can make savings using a Japan Rail Pass.

Children below the age of 6 can travel for free, see the details via:

Hope this helps,
Daniel
