Hi,
We are planning to go to Tokyo on 21/12/15 - 02/1/16 we are total 4 adults (2 are under 25yrs old) and 3 kids(11, 8 & 6)
Our initial plan are as follows:
1) 22/12 from Narita Airport to Disney sea (stay 2 nights) 2) 24/12 from Disneysea to Karuizawa (stay 3 nights because want to let the kids to see snow) 3) 27/12 to 2/1 wonder around Tokyo or may go some day trip to town nearby tokyo(stay 6 nights) We may want to purchase the JR kanto pass if we can cut down some travel cost. We are quite flexible on the itinerary. Pls give us the best suggestions on how to make use of the 3 days pass.

This and best rgds
Celine

Hello,
I think getting a (or 2 or more) JR Kanto Area Passes are great ways to save money. If you want to know the places that offer you the most bang for your buck, the 3 places to travel would be Karuizawa, Kusatsu, and the Izu Peninsula. Nikko is also a popular destination. Please be aware though that at the end and start of the year, there is a huge rush of people traveling back home. And on Jan 1-3 many stores will be closed. However, going to a big shrine on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day can be quite a sight to see, and well worth your time.
Some other areas of interest you might like are Kamakura/Enoshima, Yokohama, Hakone, the Fuji 5 Lakes area, the Boso Peninsula in Chiba, and Mito to the north, which has one of Japan's top rated gardens.

Best of luck.
