Tokyo to Mt Fuji - Lake Ashi

Hi Expert,

I'm planning for a trip from Tokyo Shinjuku area to Mt Fuji & lake Ashi via :
- Fuji visitor center - 5th station - Lake Ashi - Komagatake Ropeway - and back to Shinjuku

Please advise if this route can use JR pass or need to add Hakone pass or other?
Thanks for your advice.

Additional question.
For those places which train and station to use. Thanks again.

Hi there,

Travel within Fuji Hakone area is not covered by the JR Pass. The Hakone Pass does offer good value if you plan on exploring the area and can also be used for travel from Shinjuku.

See this page for travel around the Hakone area.

Hope this helps,
