Hi!

May I ask if it will be worth buying the JRPass if our iterinary for 7 days would be:

Sept 20 Tokyo arrival
Sept21 Tokyo- Disney Sea
Sept 22 Tokyo- Mt. Fuji
Sept 23 Tokyo-Osaka - Universal Studio
Sept 24 Osaka- Kyoto
Sept 24 Kyoto-Osaka
Sept 25 Osaka- Kyoto
Sept 25 Kyoto-Tokyo
Sept 26 Tokyo- Puroland

We were told that Kyoto is a beautiful city and one day is not enough to see the beautiful places. So we decided to have 1 day in Osaka and 2 days in Kyoto though we booked the hotel in Osaka for 2 nights.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Yes a 7 day JR Pass will allow you make good savings over buying normal tickets and it will cover nearly all your travel. There are two points that come to mind when reading your itinerary.

The first is visiting Fuji. Fuji is not to be missed in any trip to Japan but getting there requires a bit of planning. This because there are several areas around Fuji you can visit and different approaches that can be taken. We have a detailed page about visiting Fuji here.

As for Kyoto, personally I love the city and there's plenty to do and explore there. You can do a lot in 2 days but if you want more, it is easy to make a day trip from Osaka there. As it is only 30min by train between both cities.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
