Dear All,

We are a young couple and we plan to visit Japan for 3 weeks this summer.
You can find our planned itinerary in my message title. Can you please confirm we can use Japan rail pass for all our transports?

Thanks a lot for your great help,
L.

Hello there,

The JR Pass covers nearly all your travel, only within Hakone and Fuji will you require additional travel. This, however, will be small compared to the rest. I recommend reading this website for the details.

For travel times, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi,
You cannot use the JR Pass for the Mt Fuji area. If you're going to see both Hakone and the Fuji 5 Lakes area, you might consider getting a Fuji Hakone Pass.

For Koyasan, there is the Koyasan World Heritage Ticket .

Good luck.
